State Grant Funding Helps Preserve Local History, Says Klunk
September 11, 2026
HARRISBURG— State grant funding has been awarded to two organizations working to preserve the history of the 169th District, according to Rep. Kate Klunk (R-Hanover).
The grants were awarded by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC) as part of its Cultural and Historical Support Grant Program. These grants provide essential operating support to museums and historical organizations that preserve and share Pennsylvania’s rich heritage.
Two organizations in the district have been selected for funding this year:
• Hanover Area Historical Society, $6,000, to supplement utility and maintenance costs.
• Northern Central Railway, $30,000, to support the organization’s long-term sustainability and expand programming.
“These grants support local historical preservation and expand programming that serves residents and visitors alike,” said Klunk.
“The Hanover Area Historical Society and Northern Central Railway play vital roles in keeping our history accessible, engaging, and alive for future generations.”
Questions about these grants can be directed to Klunk’s office at 717-630-8942.
