Phillips-Hill, Klunk Announce Grants for Critical Infrastructure, Fire Departments, Emergency Response Improvements

HARRISBURG – Sen. Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York Township) and Rep. Kate Klunk (R-Hanover) today announced more than $1.9 million for four projects across southwestern York County.

“Rep. Klunk and I worked together to secure funding for these important projects that will improve the quality of life for local citizens and mitigate the need for future property tax hikes by local governments,” Phillips-Hill said.

“I’m grateful for these Local Share Account funds and the critical support they bring to the 169th District,” said Klunk. “Each of these projects addresses an important need, whether it’s improving public safety, strengthening emergency response, or upgrading essential infrastructure. I’m looking forward to seeing the impact these dollars will have across our communities, and I’m proud of the collaboration that made this investment possible. It was a pleasure to advocate for this funding alongside Sen. Kristin Phillips-Hill.”

The following projects received funding from the state:
- Hanover Borough will receive $293,879 for an emergency generator for the new public safety building that houses police and borough government operations.
- Jefferson Volunteer Fire Company will receive $214,000 for HVAC upgrades to the fire station.
- Penn Township will receive $557,140 for a truck-mounted sewer cleaner.
- Shrewsbury Borough Municipal Authority will receive $886,809 to replace its force main at the Tolna Road Pump Station.

The projects were funded through the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s (CFA) Local Share Account (LSA) program, which uses gaming revenue to support projects in the public interest across the commonwealth. The CFA is an independent agency of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.
