Klunk to Host Free Shredding, ID Theft Prevention Event in Hanover on Sept. 28

HANOVER – As part of efforts to protect private information, Rep. Kate Klunk (R-Hanover) will host a free shredding, identity theft prevention event for residents of the 169th Legislative District. The event will be held near Dick’s Sporting Goods in the North Hanover Mall, 1155 Carlisle St., on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 9 a.m. to noon.

State Legislators Announce Wildfire Fighting Grants for Local Companies

HARRISBURG – Porters Community Fire Company in Heidelberg Township and Union Fire and Hose Company No. 1 in Dover are among more than 130 fire companies across Pennsylvania to receive wildfire fighting grants, according to state Reps. Seth Grove (R-Dover) and Kate Klunk (R-Hanover). Porters was awarded a $4,000 grant while the Union Fire and Hose grant is for $2,000.

HARRISBURG – York County Republican legislators are accusing Gov. Tom Wolf of heeding party wishes over the needs of Pennsylvania’s cash-strapped counties by vetoing much-needed election reform legislation today. Wolf’s decision to reject Senate Bill 48 kills efforts to help local governments with the cost of the 2020 election - after he unilaterally decertified all of the state’s voting machines - and do away with the antiquated straight-party voting option at polling places.

HARRISBURG ¬– The House Health Committee today approved Rep. Kate Klunk’s (R-Hanover) legislation to ensure life for babies with Down syndrome. Her legislation, House Bill 321, would include prenatal Down syndrome diagnoses as a legal reason why babies can’t be aborted in Pennsylvania. The bill now goes to the full House for a vote.
